With Jaren Jackson Jr. and Santi Aldama, the Memphis Grizzlies will have a strong presence at the FIBA World Cup in 2023.
But Ja Morant, their standout point guard, is not a member of Team USA.
NBA star Paul Pierce discussed this in a recent edition of Showtime Basketball's KG Certified, saying Morant needs to alter the narrative around himself.
Morant isn't on the USA team, according to Pierce.
He is a top-10 or top-15 player in the world, although he is not a member of the USA squad. And probably for good reason.
But because I believe he has the most to prove and demonstrate, I want him to reestablish who he is both on and off the court.
Pierce thinks that the Grizzlies player needs to alter the perception of himself, even though it's unclear whether Morant was left off Team USA or decided not to compete.
When Morant's name is brought up right now, people frequently bring up topics other than basketball, which Pierce would like to change.
